What makes this different from a typical Art Camp?
Regular art camps...
❌ Cost at least $15 per day for one child
❌ Kids go and come back, but they might not remember what they did
❌ Involve you leaving the house for one more thing
❌ Don't involve a story that make kids excited for what's coming next!
❌ Use supplies you might not have at home, so it's hard to use them in your everyday art practice
The Camp Cryptid Online Art Camp...
✅ Costs $10 for the entire family
✅ Gives you replays the day of and up to 48 hours after the camp ends
✅ Has a story revealed in pieces every single day, with a surprise ending
✅ Lets kids have fun in a no-stress environment where their video is off, but they can still interact with Miss Julie
✅ Teaches kids how to use the art supplies that they already have in a different way, so they can use them for their own art time
✅ Has kids creating 5 beautiful art projects, encouraging them to follow a step-by-step OR to create their own unique piece (their choice!)
✅ Boosts confidence when kids can share their own art with others and see other kids creating alongside them!
✅ Lets you create - after all, YOU deserve some creative time too!
Hi, I'm Julie Soul, the teacher!
I've been teaching kids art for over 10 years, either at home, in my local community, or online.
I'm a homeschool Mom to two girls, ages 14 and 11, I love coffee, traveling, nature, board games, and a cheerleader for creative kids - AND those who teach them.
I look forward to being able to respond live to your kids and to give them feedback after the class when they share their work - it's one of my favorite parts of art camp!
I founded Soul Sparklettes Art, where we specialize in art that's kid-fun and kid-approved, and we teach kids (and those that teach them) that we can draw dragons AND learn the building blocks of art - at the same time! I'm all about honoring a kid's wishes to create step-by-step or to take it their own way and add those Minecraft characters in, their choice!
Here's our week at a glance!
You can attend live OR watch the replays - your choice!
MONDAY:
Nervous Nessie
We kick things off by creating Nessie, who seems to be very nervous about this year's summer camp. Why is that?
Using crayons, watercolors, and a Sharpie, we'll create this adorable or fearsome beast all while studying the element of color.
TUESDAY:
Yowling Yeti
What is that terrible yowling at night, and why?
We'll look at the element of line, and use water-soluble markers (like Crayola), aluminum foil, and a spray bottle to create magical foil prints.
WEDNESDAY:
Beautiful Bigfoot
Bigfoot is enjoying camp, but might seem a little preoccupied with something...
We'll look at the element of space and play with perspective and then we'll use oil pastels or a medium of your choice to add the element of texture.
THURSDAY:
Jealous Jackalope
Jackalope only wants one thing, and that's to be recognized for his efforts. But is something getting in the way?
We'll use water-soluble markers (like Crayola) and learn how they can turn into paint as we design our fancy portrait. We'll talk about the element of shape and how we can use it to make our art better.
FRIDAY:
Mysterious Mothman
Mothman never comes to camp but today, he's here - but why? Hear the surprise conclusion to Camp Cryptid and have fun putting all 5 art projects together!
We'll get out our paint (tempera, acrylic, or paint) and look at the element of value as we create this mysterious and spooky cryptid.
